US Secret Service checks strategic locations in Bali ahead of Obama visit

US Secret Service checked a number of strategic locations in Bali on Friday ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to the resort island.
A 12-member team of the secret service visited Bali Police headquarters in Denpasar on Friday to coordinate security for Obama's visit.
The team members, who were accompanied by staff from the US Embassy, were received by Bali Police chief Insp. Gen. Sutisna.
“They come to coordinate the security plan during Obama's stay in Bali. They are now making surveys on locations,” Sutisna said.
He explained security during the US President's visit will be a very tight three-ring structure. The Police will secure on the third ring, the Indonesian Military (TNI) the second ring and the first ring will be held by US Secret Service personnel.
“There will be a number of our personnel who will be assigned to operate on the second ring under the control of TNI,” Sutisna said, adding up 2,300 police officers will be deployed in Bali maintain security during the visit by Obama.
