Hotels asked to reduce lights

DENPASAR: Hotels and tourism facilities have been asked to minimize the number of lights in use during Nyepi.

"Critical public facilities, such as hospitals, are exempt from the no-light policy during Nyepi.

Hotels are allowed to turn on their lights. However, we urge hotels to reduce the number of lights during Nyepi. For example, they don't have to turn on the lights in the garden or outside the hotels," said Denpasar Tourism Agency head, Putu Budiasa.

Budiasa also reminded hotels to inform their guests not to wander outside their respective hotels. - JP
