Police investigate cyber-based prostitution

JAKARTA: The Special Crimes division at the city police will continue investigating perpetrators who used social networking sites and websites to offer prostitutes.

“We are trying to bust the website makers and pimps,” Special Crimes head Sr. Comr. Agus
Sutisna said Sunday as quoted by vivanews.com.

He said his officers found a number of websites that allegedly advertised prostitution
via online.

Agus said there was a possibility that some people offered themselves on the websites and social networking sites. — JP
