Hundreds of Hindu people in Semarang attended a joint prayer at Pura Agung Giri Natha temple Monday evening in commemoration of the Day of Silence.
Before the prayer they followed several processions including the Tawur Agung Kesanga ritual, led by priest I Nyoman Wedhu.
Participants followed the rituals seriously. They also prayed for the upcoming Semarang mayoral election to go smoothly.
Chairman of the Day of Silence Celebration I Nyoman Romangsi explained that this year's celebration was designed to help improve brotherhood and togetherness in the life of the nation.
“Let's build harmony in humanity and nature,” Nyoman said.
