East Java Police announced their readiness to support Bali Police with security arrangements for the upcoming visit of US President Barack Obama, should his itinerary include the island. However, Obama’s visit to Bali has not been confirmed.
“[Despite the tentative itinerary] we will continue training to ensure security for Obama’s visit,” East Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Pratiknyo was quoted as saying Wednesday by news portal kompas.com.
To ensure security, East Java Police are scheduled to hold joint counterterrorism exercises with the Indonesian Military [TNI] at a hotel in Surabaya, he added.
