Tanah Lot's income rises by 18 percent

TABANAN: Tanah Lot, one of Bali's most famous tourist destinations, enjoyed an 18-percent income increase in 2009 valued at Rp 17.3 billion as compared to Rp 14.6 billion in 2008.

Tanah Lot in Kediri village, Tabanan regency houses the island's sacred temple Pura Tanah Lot. Tabanan regional administration, Beraban traditional village, and a private company jointly managed Tanah Lot Temple and its adjacent areas.

The number of visitors to Tanah Lot increased to 1. 854.000 in 2009 from 1.574.808 people in 2008.

Tabanan Regent Adi Wiryatama said that the roles of community leaders and villagers living adjacent Tanah Lot temple have been very great. - JP
