Police arrest couple for murder of student

TANGERANG: Serpong police have arrested Yadi, 27, and his wife Nila, 25, for the murder of Irfan Zidni, 20, a student of Pamulang University last week.

Irfan’s body was found on the roadside near the German Center building in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), South Tangerang, on Friday.

Officers took Yadi, a resident of Dadap Kampong, Tangerang, and his wife into custody at Rawa Buntu railway station in BSD late on Monday.

“The suspect found out his wife had had an affair with the victim,” Serpong police chief Budi Hermanto told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.  

Budi said Yadi followed his wife after she received a phone call from the victim to meet near the German Center building. The suspect was carrying a sickle.

After seeing Nila meet Irfan, Yadi approached the victim, stabbing him repeatedly with the sickle.
