A witness said that defendant Susandhi bin Sukatma was assaulted during an interrogation to probe alleged drug ownership in December last year.
During a court session at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday, witness Tyas Rumanti said that the defendant, her husband, suffered several facial injuries. “He was also handcuffed,” she said.
Tyas said that she had heard people in a meeting room on the eighth floor of the Artha Graha building, South Jakarta, where her husband had been interrogated for possessing an Ecstasy pill.
After the interrogation at the office, she added, people claimed the Jakarta Police continued the investigation.
“They asked to question me, too,” she said adding that they did not present their police ID. “They also did not wear official uniforms.”
She said that her husband did not consume illegal or prescription drugs.
