Badung intensifies raids on beggars

BADUNG: The Badung Public Order Agency is intensifying raids on beggars
ahead of US President Barack Obama’s visit to Bali, which is scheduled
for next week.
The agency’s head of operation I Nengah Sukarta said the agency has managed to net 25 beggars during a recent raid.
“We brought them to the Social Services Agency for training before we
returned them to their hometown in Karangasem, but they keep coming
back, especially after the Nyepi day.” — JP
