University of Pelita Harapan (UPH) is planning to suspend two of its students for their alleged involvement in a fight Thursday.

"We've received a request from the department [where the two students study] to suspend them for the rest of this semester," UPH spokesperson Rosse Hutapea said Friday.

"But, we are still waiting for the result from the police investigation before making a final decision."

On Thursday afternoon, Listya Magdalena, 18, an UPH architecture student, was rushed to Puri Hospital, West Jakarta, after her classmate, Maisya Natalia, 18, stabbed her in the chest a dozen times.

The incident, which took place in Listya's car, was allegedly caused by jealousy.
Police questioned Maisya Thursday night but have not named her a suspect yet.
