Heavy downpour in Bandung city and its surrounding areas has overflowed Citarum River, sending flood waters inundating three districts in Bandung regency and forcing thousands to take refuge.

“Flood hit Majalaya, part of Ibun and Paseh districts,” Riki Waskito, member of disaster mitigation unit in Majalaya, told tempointeraktif.com on Friday night.

Flood has also expanded to Baleendah, Dayeuhkolot, Pameungpeuk and Banjaran areas.

Last month, water from the overflowing river also inundated at least 6,000 houses in Baleendah and Dayeuhkolot. Similar flooding had also hit other areas in Bandung regency on December.
