An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 shook Bengkulu at 4.56 p.m. on Sunday, sending a medium tremor to residents in Bengkulu city. However, there were no reports of casualties or damage, kompas.com reported.
The local office of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said the epicenter of the quake was around 116 kilometers northwest of Lais district in North Bengkulu, at a depth of 20 kilometers.
The province had also been hit by 5-magnitude earthquake last month, and a 5.3-magnitude quake in January.
