State electricity company PT PLN said Sunday it was still unsure when its Muara Karang power plant would receive a normal gas supply from state gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).
PLN primary energy director Nur Pamudji said that Muara Karang power plant gas supply had dropped from 200 million cubic feet per day to 100 million cubic feet per day since March 1.
"PGN just says it will tell us whether or not it could increase the gas supply to our power plant in the upcoming week," he said as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com.
Because of the gas shortage, PLN is forced to use a more expensive fuel to generate the power plant.
