Go out and have fun in Jakarta and beyond!

A- A A+

Good news for the adventurous, the wild at heart and those not afraid to try something new. This weekend, high-fliers will get the chance to join in the first Indonesian Hot Air Balloon Adventure (1stIHABA) to live out an experience that could only previously be seen in the movies.

Held at Sentul City from March 26 to 28, the program will welcome 20 air balloon pilots from Belgium, Holland, France, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand - each with their own unique ride and style.

There is, apparently, a set fare should you wish to join the ride; but organizers of the event have been giving enthusiasts the opportunity to write in to them via Twitter for a free ride in a hot air balloon.

(Simply check out @1stIHABA on Twitter, write about your wildest hot air balloon aspiration using the hash tag *impianbalon (balloon dreams), and you could be flying in no time!)

Meanwhile, for those interested in adventures of a more epicurean nature, two of Jakarta's top hotels are serving up just that this week.

Hotel Borobudur Jakarta is celebrating its 36th anniversary on Tuesday with various F&B offers available for one day only on March 23. Choose between a sip of Borobudur's legendary oxtail soup, a three-course set menu at Bruschetta, a Japanese set menu at Miyama, Chinese delicacies at Teratai, and a special snack sampler at Pendopo Lounge and the Churchill Wine and Cigar Bar. Not to be left out of the fun, even Borobudur Gourmet is giving out an all-day 36 percent discount on all breads, cakes and pastry items - an affair not to be missed!

Similarly, for those wishing for Easter feasts to come early this year, grandkemang Hotel Jakarta has been serving its Color your Easter Brunch since March 15 that lasts all the way till April 12.

This year, grandkemang is sharing Easter's special moment with Indonesian children with cancer under the Indonesian Care for Cancer Kids Foundation (YKAKI). The hotel will be donating 20 percent out of the total brunch proceeds alongside full sales of Easter bunny dolls and chocolate eggs hung over the giant charity tree in the lobby. What more can you ask for than a chance to go out, have fun, and do good at the same time?
