KUTA: The US government has withdrawn equipment that had arrived at Ngurah Rai airport to support the planned visit of President Barack Obama to Bali.
Lt. Col Aldrin Petrus Mongan, Air Force commander of Ngurah Rai airport, confirmed all equipment and personnel would be flown back to their original air base.
"We do not know the precise time, but this is the common international military standard of procedures," Mongan said.
Last Thursday, a US Cargo Ship C-17 Globe Master belonging to the US Air Force landed at Ngurah Rai airport in Bali.
The plane unloaded supporting facilities for the visit of President Obama, including communication equipments, heavy equipment and safety equipment for the US President.
"The visit of President Obama was delayed until June and therefore all personnel will return to their bases," Mongan said. - JP
