Winner named in `Ogoh-ogoh' contest

DENPASAR: Denpasar municipality office chose the Wayang Sapuh Leger Ogoh-Ogoh as the winner of the creativity competition held to observe Nyepi Day of Silence.
Ogoh-ogoh is a giant effigy made to symbolize demonic powers, made prior to Nyepi, the Hindu Day of Silence.
Denpasar city held a competition to encourage young people to create artistic works. Every banjar (traditional village) presented its entries at the contest.
The winner, Wayang Sapu Leger, was created by Dharma Yowana youth group from Banjar Anggarkasih in Sanur area. - JP
