Hundreds of senior high school students in several cities will take a substitute exam either on March 29 or April 5 after the government found their test results were invalid.
Manyur Ramli, head of the Research and Development Division at the National Education Ministry, said Friday national exam supervisors discovered the answer sheets of students from SMA Teladan Indrapura and SMAN 2 senior high schools in North Sumatra followed the same pattern.
The supervisors also found what appeared to be answers to test materials on their cell phones as well as in notes.
Mansyur said, however, the supervisors did not deem the students to have cheated and considered the test answers spotted in their phones were “a disturbance”.
The government also found the mathematics test material for SMKN 1 vocational school in Bali and SMK vocational school in West Lombok had been given to other vocational school students.
The substitute test for Bali and West Lombok students will be held Monday. (dis)
