Judge, lawyer declared suspects in alleged bribery case

The Corruption Eradication Commission has declared a judge and a lawyer, who were caught red-handed in an alleged bribery case Tuesday, as suspects in the case.
KPK spokesman Johan Budi announced their suspect status on Tuesday afternoon.
The State Administrative High Court judge and the lawyer, identified only by their initials IB and AS respectively, were arrested around 10:30 a.m. in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta. The KPK confiscated Rp 300 million (US$33,000) in the arrest.
Johan said that the bribe was allegedly aimed at winning favor in an ongoing case. “We are still investigating [the case],” he said as quoted by kompas.com.
At the time of writing, both men were still undergoing questioning at KPK headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta. The KPK has assigned 15 investigators to the case.
