Flood hits Samarinda

Three districts in the city of Samarinda, East Kalimantan, have been flooded up to half a meter deep following heavy rain on Tuesday night.

Water flooded hundreds of houses and businesses in Samarinda Ulu, North Samarinda and Samarinda Ilir, and a number of roads have been closed, news portal kompas.com reported.

The floods, which also hit the city's commercial center in Airputih, Lambung Mangkurat and South Sempaja, have affected economic activities, but there were no reports of casualties or injuries.
