Mild quakes shake West Nusa Tenggara, Bali

Two earthquakes, of magnitude 5.6 and 5.4, jolted West Nusa Tenggara and Bali on Wednesday afternoon, but no casualties or damage have been reported.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported that the quakes hit at 12:11 p.m. and 12:27 p.m. respectively.

The agency reported that the quakes were felt in Bali's provincial capital of Denpasar and in the Sumbawa Island city of Bima.

Both earthquakes struck off the coast 63 kilometers southwest of Sumbawa Besar in West Nusa Tenggara, at 10 kilometers beneath the surface.
