DENPASAR: Bali Police have pledged to tighten security for the upcoming Easter holidays.

"We will comb and secure all churches across the island to minimize security threats during the religious holiday," Bali Police chief Ins.Gen. Sutisna said.

The police will deploy one third of all its officers to secure churches and will be assisted by church security guards and traditional Balinese civilian security forces.

"Terror can strike at any time. We have to remain constantly alert," Sutisna said. - JP
