Rp 3.35t in funds needed to renovate Citarum River

JAKARTA: Major renovation of Citarum River is needed to avoid annual floods. The renovations are estimated to cost Rp 3.35 trillion (US$370.5 million), says West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan.
"The cost is a rough estimate from a team of the provincial *administration*," Ahmad said Tuesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
The planned renovation will comprise of reforestation in areas encompassed by the Citarum River and its nine streams, water catchment normalization and relocation of residents, he said. - JP
