Mobile library launched in Malioboro

YOGYAKARTA: A mobile library service named Mletik (meaning "smart") was launched by the community in the heart of Yogyakarta city's tourist district of Malioboro.

The library, which was launched by Yogyakarta Mayor Herry Zudianto on Wednesday, was set up by the Malioboro community, whose members come from different groups ranging from vendors to parking attendants.

"The library aims to improve the community's access to information," community's leader Sujarwo Putra said.

The library is opens from Monday to Wednesday and runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. - times when there are not too many visitors crowding the famous street. - JP
