Third term is not what Megawati has in mind

Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) leader Megawati Soekarnoputri says she never expects to take the party’s helm for the third successive term, but her reelection will represent the wishes of her party’s grassroots.
“If I am elected, it will be at the request of the party’s congress. I am only responsible for making the congress a success,” Megawati said Monday at the venue of the congress near Sanur beach in Bali.
Megawati added that the congress would also mandate whether she would contest the 2014 presidential election.
The four-day congress will officially open Tuesday. Megawati has been tipped to win.
