West Jakarta to hold Car Free Day

JAKARTA: The city administration will hold a Car Free Day next Sunday on busy roads in West Jakarta.

This will affect Jl. Kalibaru Barat, Roa Malaka, Tamansari between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. Vehicles passing through will be redirected.

"The Old Town is the tourism icon of the West Jakarta," Zaky Reza, head of the municipality's section for environment office supervision, said on Sunday as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

Since 2008, Zaky said, the municipality had carried out four Car Free Days coupled with some art and cultural events. - JP
