Anand collapses, hospitalized after questioning

Spiritual guru Anand Khrisna, a suspect in an sexual harassment case, is being treated at the National Police's Dr. Soekanto Hospital in East Jakarta after he collapsed following 11 hours of police questioning on Monday.
"Pak Anand is currently still in the hospital under police surveillance," one of Anand's lawyers Astro P. Girsang told The Jakarta Post over the phone Tuesday.
Monday's interview with the police started at 10 a.m. and finished at 9:15 p.m.
The police had planned to detain Anand right after the session, but instead rushed him to hospital after he collapsed.
Astro said Anand collapsed because he was so tired and felt pressured by how the police were conducting the interview.
"The police insisted on video recording our client's testimony," Astro said.
"They also bombarded Pak Anand with questions about the content of his books, which we found irrelevant to this case."
The case began when a former student at one of Anand's meditation classes, Tara Pradipta Laksmi, filed a sexual harassment report with the police in February.
