Mild quakes hit eastern Indonesia

Moderate quakes jolted Saumlaki, Maluku and Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara in the eastern part of the archipelago in the early hours of Tuesday morning. No casualties or damage have been reported.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported that a 5-magnitude quake hit Saumlaki at 2:10 a.m. Jakarta time. The quake struck 287 kilometers northwest of Saumlaki at 158 kilometers beneath the surface.
Later in the day, at 7:25 a.m. Jakarta time, a 5.1-magnitude quake struck 88 kilometers off Kupang, at 88 kilometers beneath the surface.
