Jakarta's new Regional Legislation Board (Balegda) consisting of 25
councilors has targetted to deliberate and revice 38 bylaws in 2010.
They are part of a total of 101 bylaw revisions and drafts to be worked out during the board's five-year tenure, almost double from the 2004 period, when only 59 bylaws were passed.
“We plan to pass two to three bylaws in one plenary meeting,” Balegda chairman Triwisaksana said after an MoU signing between Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo and city council speaker Ferrial Sofyan on Wednesday.
The drafts to be deliberated this year include bylaw on the 2030 spatial planning and bylaw on women and children protection, while bylaw revisions that will be discussed include 2009 bylaw on regional health system.
