MALANG: The East Java administration office plans to build a museum in tribute to former Indonesian president Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid.

The museum will be located in Jombang, the birth place of Gus Dur, with the construction, according to Deputy Governor Saifullah Yusuf, to start after Gus Dur's 100 death anniversary was commemorated.

Gus Dur, also former chairman of Indonesia's largest religious organization NU, died on Dec. 30 and was buried in Jombang the following day.

Renovations are being planned for the cemetery at Tebu Ireng Islamic School and Saifullah said the renovation cost would be shared by the provincial and Jombang administrations. - JP
