Hundreds of public order (Satpol PP) officers, who were involved in the government's effors to evict Mbah Priok cemetery in Tanjung Priok, North Java on Wednesday afternoon, have been withdrawn from Koja area by sea.

“They left the place through the sea,” an unidentified security guard of the cemetery told kompas.com on Wednesday evening.

The alternative evacuation was chosen because all public order vehicles had been burned down by the angry people, who resisted the eviction to protect their historical site.

A group of people were seen gathering in front of Koja Hospital, near the incident site, while addressing their protest against the eviction.
