A group of women claiming to be victims of sexual harassment allegedly committed by spiritual teacher Anand Krishna opened on Friday a temporary office in Bali to collect public reports of the abuse.
The office is located in Sandhi Murti learning center in the Bali capital of Denpasar.
“All victims of the sexual harassment are welcome to file their reports,” a lawyer for the victims, Agung Mattauch, said.
He played down a defamation lawsuit filed against him and the victims by Anand students and supporters earlier in the day.
“Defamation lawsuit as a counterattack has become a trend. It only reflects a state of panic which has no solid ground,” Agung said.
Anand’s students, grouped in Anand Ashram Lovers Community in Bali, reported Agung and the teacher's former students Tara Pradipta Laksmi, Dhanika Pranata, Sumidah, and Leon Firman to the provincial police for defamation.
