PT Minerva Motor Indonesia (MMI) launched on Tuesday its Minerva Sachs R 150 VX, with a hope to boost sales of its sport motorcycle products by 32.5 percent from 49,800 units last year to 66,000 units.
President Director of Minerva Kristianto Goenadi said Tuesday that by the end of this year, the company hoped to sell 30,000 units of the new sport motorcycle variant.
“The sport motorcycle’s market share in Indonesia has been very small, so we must find appropriate strategies to compete with other brands,” said.
The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) report says the sport motorcycle sales jumped by 8.07 percent to 474.538 units last year.
Each Minerva Sachs will be sold for Rp 16.5 million (US$1,831.5). It may compete with other products in the same 150 cc class, such as Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki.
