SEMARANG, Central Java: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) disclosed Friday that Semarang Mayor Sukawi Sutarip had the most wealth of government officials in the province.
Sukawi's wealth is worth Rp 56 billion (US$5.4 million), followed by Karanganyar Regent Rina Iriani (Rp 52 billion), Central Java Governor Bibit Waluyo (Rp 6 billion) and Vice Governor Rustriningsih (Rp 931 million).
"Only 11 officials have handed in their wealth reports," said KPK acting head Haryono Umar after the submission of state administrators' wealth reports at the gubernatorial office in Semarang on Friday.
Officials who have handed in the reports include the governor, vice governor, the provincial police chief, provincial prosecutor head, provincial secretary, five mayors and a number of regents running from March 2008 to September 2009.
"Based on the KPK study, only around 70 percent of state and provincial-run enterprises in Central Java have reported their wealth. The number is small compared to executive and legislative officials," said Haryono. - JP
