Fire razes 15 houses in Matraman

JAKARTA: Fifteen houses in Palmeriam subdistrict, Matraman, East Jakarta, burned down Sunday after a kerosene stove exploded in one house.

The fire spread to nearby houses. First. Brig. Fajar, an officer at city police's traffic management center, said the fire started at around 1:30 p.m. It needed 15 fire engines for city firefighter agency officers to extinguish the fire, which did not claim lives or injury. - JP
