Aetra cuts production by 25 percent

Private water operator PT Aetra Air Jakarta announced Tuesday it would cut its clean water production by 25 percent following a shortage of water supply in its water installations in Buaran and Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

“Most costumers will then see the water supply getting smaller or dirtier,” Aetra corporate secretary Yosua L. Tobing said in a statement made available to The Jakarta Post.

The company is expecting to resume their service back to normal within a few days.

The city signed a 25-year contract with Aetra, which supplies clean water for the city’s eastern parts, and PT PAM Lyonnaise (Palyja), which serves the western parts.
