JAKARTA: A number of parties criticized the slow adoption of an online tax system in the city during a plenary session Monday.
“The city’s tax agency has not fully applied itself to the effort,”
Abdul Aziz of the United Development Party (PPP) said at a session that
discussed a revision to 11 tax bylaws.
He said according to his party’s notes, as of February this year, only 13 of 800 tax payers joined the online tax system.
H.M. Subki of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) urged the city to
tackle problems that hindered the implementation of the system,
expected to reduce leakage in tax income. — JP
