JAKARTA: Private tap water operator PT Aetra Air Jakarta announced Tuesday it would slash its supply by 25 percent following a shortage of water in its water treatment installations in Buaran and Pulogadung, East Jakarta.
"Most customers will see their water supplies getting smaller or dirtier," Aetra corporate secretary Yosua L. Tobing said in a statement sent to The Jakarta Post.
The company is expecting to see their service return to normal over the next few days.
The city is tied to a 25-year contract with Aetra, which supplies clean water for the city's eastern parts, and PT PAM Lyonnaise (Palyja), which serves the western areas of the city. - JP
