McLaren's Jenson Button is upbeat about his Spanish Grand Prix title defence this weekend, while local favorite Fernando Alonso expects his Ferrari to challenge for victory.

Formula One begins its European leg with Sunday's 66-lap race and Button says he is going into the race feeling pretty well prepared after his second victory this season in China.

Button leads the championship with 60 points with Nico Rosebrg of Mercedes, Alonso and Lewis Hamilton all within 11 points.

Alonso says a win is the objective, but he would be satisfied with a podium.

Sebastian Vettel, who has started three races from pole position this year, goes to the Circuit de Catalunya a favorite since the last nine winners have taken it from pole position.
