JAKARTA: The Islam Defenders Front (FPI) has threatened to raid movie theaters that will screen a local-made comedy film starring Japanese porn star Maria “Miyabi” Ozawa at its premiere on Thursday.
FPI’s economy unit head Mustafa Embong, said Wednesday the hard-line Muslim group would consistently oppose anything related to the movie star, whose film ‘Menculik Miyabi’ (Kidnapping Miyabi) marks her debut in the Indonesian movie industry.
“The movie’s director or the [production house] management has gotten wilder. We don’t guarantee it [the premiere] will be secure. We will hunt them down because they have broken their promise to cancel the movie,” Mustafa told kompas.com.
Ody Mulya Hidayat of the Maxima Pictures, which produced the movie, said the film had passed a state-run censor body almost uncut under the category of a teen movie.
The Cinema 21 movie theater network has announced an immediate screening of the movie. — JP
