Lawyers for former National Police chief Comr. Gen. Susno Diadji tacitly admitted that Susno chose to disobey police warrant on a questioning on Thursday due to their fear over the possibility that Susno might be named as a suspect.
Henry Yosodiningrat, one of the lawyers, said the decision to ignore the questioning was made after they met with National Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Ito Sumardi.
“During the dialog, we asked him to guarantee that the questioning was not a trap. A trap means our client begins the questioning as a witness but ends as a suspect,” Henry told a press conference.
Susno was supposed to undergo a questioning session at National Police headquarters starting at 10 a.m.
However, only Susno’s lawyers showed up at the detective directorate.
One of his lawyers, M. Assegaf, said Susno finally decided not to come due to a number of considerations, including the unclear statements in the warrant.
“The police warrant did not indicate the status of the case in which the testimonies of Pak Susno are needed.
