Farah said she never gives her 3-year-old white sugar. “We usually use natural sweetener from fruits,” she said. “He once tried ice cream, but now doesn’t like it,” she said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
And when her son asks for chocolate, she gives him the 70 percent dark type.
Having educated Arman’s palate, she said he now enjoys the same foods as her. “For Arman, fruit is like candy,” she said. Her son also likes noodles and Italian cuisine.
She added that our habit of consuming white sugar wasn’t healthy. “It’s really bad, it can make a child dislike vegetables.”
According to Farah, adults inherit a taste for food their parents give them at a young age.
Farah advised parents to cook for their children rather than buying them snacks. “Cooking for children is not hard,” she said. — JP
