Gemstone sellers complain of kiosk price at Rawabening market

Gemstone sellers at Rawabening Market in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, have complained about the pricey kiosks at the newly renovated location.
“The market has become a pleasant place to trade, however the rental price is just too high for us,” seller Nurhayati, 46, told kompas.com Thursday.
Another seller, Eko, 29, said the rental cost of a kiosk ranged from Rp 1.5 million (US$165) to Rp 2.5 million per month, plus a payment for electricity that was Rp 80,000 per month. The new price was quite a hike compared to the previous Rp 1 million rental fee per month, he added.
