Shuttler Taufik apologizes over losing in Thomas Cup

Indonesian hopeful shuttler on men’s single Taufik Hidayat apologized to fans and supporters after losing 21-7, 21-14 against China’s Lin Dan during their final match on Thomas and Uber Cup 2010 tournament in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday.
“I apologize for losing. Thank you all for your support,” the world No. 5 said after the match as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Taufik said that this was Lin Dan’s year and he predicted the world No. 3 would reach his peak performance this year.
“My and [Malaysian shuttler and world No. 1] Lee Chong Wei’s peak performance may have passed,” said the 2004 Olympics’ gold medalist Taufik.
In the semifinals round on Friday of last week, Lin Dan beat Lee Chong Wei 21-17, 21-8.
