Three die after boat capsized in N. Lombok

Strong winds overturned a boat Sunday morning on the waters of Beruk Bay in Pemenang district, North Lombok regency of West Nusa Tenggara, claiming three lives of 20.

“The victims are one man and two women,” the National Police deputy spokesman Comr. Zulkarnain told kompas.com on Sunday afternoon.

Zulkarnain said that the casualties were visitors from Riau who were on holiday in Lombok.

The police arrested helmsman Rumawan, 40, who they said failed to control the boat during the strong wind, and seized the boat as evidence, he added.
