Police hunt suspect in gas station robbery

The Bekasi Police are hunting a suspect for allegedly stealing money from a gas station on Jl. R.A Kartini, Margahayu, where he worked as a supervisor.  

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said Tuesday the suspect, identified as JAM, made away with Rp 212 million (US$23,320) in cash from a safe deposit box kept in the gas station cashier’s room on Monday morning after locking a female colleague in another room.

“Officers from Bekasi Police have questioned the female employee as a witness and are now tracking down possible locations where the suspect may be hiding,” Boy said.  

The Jakarta Police coordinate the activities of all police offices in Greater Jakarta area, including Bekasi, Tangerang and Depok.
