The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) advised the newly appointed Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo and Deputy Finance Minister Anny Ratnawati to report their wealth to KPK as stipulated in the Law as soon as possible.
"Congratulation to the newly appointed Finance Minister and his deputy and don't forget to fill out the state official report form (LHKPN)," KPK spokesperson Johan Budi said.
Agus, the president director of Bank Mandiri, Indonesia’s biggest bank in terms of assets, replaced Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, as she is taking up a post as a managing director at the World Bank.
"KPK also reminds former finance minister Sri Mulyani to report her wealth before going to US," KPK executive M. Jasin said, adding that it was obligatory that each state official report their wealth to KPK.
Article 5 of Law No. 29/1999 stipulates that each state official has to report their wealth before and after their tenure.
"The obligation for state officials to report their level of wealth is part of efforts at ensuring a transparent and accountable governmental system," Johan said. (ipa)
