JAKARTA: The National Police released 15 of the 30 terrorist suspects arrested in several locations in Greater Jakarta and Central Java this month.

Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang said Tuesday that officers from the Detachment 88 antiterror unit found that the released 15 did not play a significant role in terrorist activities.

“However, if investigators later find more evidence proving otherwise, they will be summoned again and their status can change,” he said.

Ten suspects are now in detention while the remaining five were shot dead during the raids.

Of the 10 suspects, three were arrested in Sukoharjo, Central Java, two in Solo, Central Java, one in Cikampek, West Java, one in Bekasi, West Java, and three in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. — JP
