Party threats to dismiss cheating legislator

Regional Golkar Party branch in North Maluku has threatened to dismiss a local legislator who was reportedly caught having an affair in Jakarta.

“If he is proven to have conducted the immoral act, then he have to be ready to be dismissed by the party. It is a very inappropriate act for a legislator, the party branch secretary Edi Langkara told Antara news agency in Ternate on Saturday.

The legislator, whom the news agency only identified by his initials JA, was reported caught having an affair with another woman in Central Jakarta by his wife.

The wife later reported the legislator to Central Jakarta Police, who later questioned him.
