National Education Minister Muhammad Nuh said Monday that 2,856 students of senior high school had failed their remedial tests held last month.
He said 150,266 of 153,000 students that failed the national exams in March retook the tests.
Combined with those who failed the retakes, a total of 14,670 student, failed this year's graduation, said Nuh.
"The failure rate was 7.8 percent in the remedial tests," said Nuh.
However, failing students still have a chance to graduate high school through equivalence test, known as Kejar Paket C, added Nuh.
