The government has offered two options on a possible electricity hike plan, an official says.
Director General of Power and Energy Use Jacobus Purwono said Monday that the first option was to increase the tariff by less than 10 percent for clients using 450 and 900 volt-amperes (VA) of electricity.
“The second option is to cancel any tariff hike on the aforementioned clients. However as compensation, electricity tariff for industrial usage will be raised to 10 to 12 percent on average,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Jacobus said that he would ask approval on the tariff hike to the House of Representatives, before enforcing the plan in July.
